This workshop is designed to provide the participants with a series of lectures and hands on laboratory experience using real-time PCR methods. Trainers will gain experience using DNA binding dyes and hydrolysis probe chemistry, as well as real-time PCR. Lectures will include an overview of gene expression, assay, design, optimization, template preparation, analysis of results, applications of real-time PCE technologym and more.

Workshop outline:

1- Introduction to Real-Time PCR.

2- Real-Time PCR chemistry.

3- Data analysis and quantification using standard curves (software orientation anf quantitative set-up).

4- Optimization and troubleshooting.

5- Clinical applications of Real-Time PCR.
